South Stand fixture closures

At the pre-season Fans Forum we discussed building the atmosphere at games where attendances have been traditionally lower than average.

We have recently launched the pre-match hospitality package which was made available from the Leigh game onwards with a special promotion for ladies for our forthcoming game against Toulouse which is being played on Mothers Day.

In order to further build the atmosphere for the day we have decided to close the South Stand for that particular game and limit entry to the Main Stand (South/Seated Stand) and also the Beaumont Terrace with unrestricted movement between the two.

When we have done this in the past it has added to the game day feel. We hope that the planned Mother’s Day campaign will encourage more families to come that day and that they will enjoy the extra atmosphere that this will bring.

We have planned to repeat this for the games against London Broncos and Sheffield Eagles but we will of course review this as the season progresses.

Chairman Mark Sawyer said “It is important that we try different initiatives to develop the game day experience and manage unnecessary costs. The planned attendance for these games can be easily accommodated in other areas of the ground without the need to open and steward the covered terrace.

“With Corporate Hospitality opportunities are also available pre-match and the opportunity to mix post match with players and listen to the post match thoughts of the coaching team and players. We are trying to build an offer that appeals to everyone and to generate an atmosphere that helps lift the players when they need it.”
