Dewsbury Rams are delighted to announce that it has been able to sign halfback Morgan Punchard on a one year deal.
The 20 year old is one of the brightest talents to come through the game in recent years.
Having played at both Halifax and Featherstone, Punchard has a good understanding of the Betfred Championship. Although he had originally signed for another year at Featherstone, Punchard felt he would get more opportunities at the Rams.
On signing the halfback, head coach Lee Greenwood said: “Morgan has been battling to make a name for himself for a couple years now. He has spent time at Halifax and Featherstone and people from both clubs speak well of him.
“He is keen to learn from Liam Finn and Paul Sykes and potentially take over from them as they enter the twilight of their careers.
“He had a contract for 2020 at Featherstone but felt the opportunities here are better for him.
“Our partnerships with Hull KR and Coventry Bears mean that he will not be short of game time, while his primary aim is to have a strong pre-season and compete for a spot in our 17.”
Everyone at the Rams would like to welcome Morgan to the club.
