Moorhouse Excited For Rams Adventure

Dewsbury Rams recently announced the new signing of prop Sam Moorhouse on a one year deal, the 18 year old has arrived from Betfred Super League side Leeds Rhinos.

Head coach Lee Greenwood has been told great things about Moorhouse and so he wanted him in his 2020 squad.

On signing for the club he said: “It has all been changed now in Super League from u19’s to u18’s, so I am just at that age now where I needed to move on. Lee contacted me and said he wanted me to come to the club, I met him and had a look around and then signed.

“He spoke to me really well and sold the club to me, he seems to have a really good ethos. I knew a lot about the club already from my former Leeds teammates Owen Trout and Muiz Mustapha, they said it’s a really good club and they learnt a lot from the experiences they had here.

“I think Lee has a really good ethos and wants something to happen here, hopefully everyone can dig in here and create a real family ethos which is already in place around the club.

“I am not just your regular hit up forward who likes to drive in, I have an offload and I like to play a bit. I understand thought that hard work needs to be done first and that will be my first priority.

“You can never complain about getting over the try line, but the first thing to do is to be solid in defence and do what Lee needs me to do and setting that platform.

“I am very excited, he sat me down and set his plans out, I think a full pre-season will do us all good, I know there are some older heads in there who have played at Super League level. It will be a valuable experience for me learning off of those heads and just overall trying to gain a good position within the squad. Hopefully I will impress Lee in pre-season and the supporters and just work hard.”

“I don’t know anyone on a friends basis, but obviously I have heard about them, the likes of Chris Aannakin, Paul Sykes, Martyn Reilly and Adam Ryder, it will be great learning off of them and then taking those things on board.”
