Greenwood previews Featherstone fixture

Dewsbury Rams head coach Lee Greenwood looks ahead to his teams tough test at home to the Featherstone Rovers on Sunday.

He said on the Rams upcoming opponents: “Featherstone I wouldn’t say have surprised people but when people were looking at them over pre-season, no coach before Christmas, doing pre-season with six or seven lads. It didn’t look like it was going to be a great season for them. Similarly to Leigh they have made good use of the loan and dual-reg market, they have always got funds backing them have Featherstone, they have made some good signings.

They have become a force again in this league, and it’s probably come as a surprise to them that they can still make the playoffs and get promoted in what looked like a season of disruption going into it.

We obviously had a good win away at Featherstone earlier on in the season, that and Widnes are probably the best wins we have had. I don’t think they’ll be looking at revenge on us but they’ll just be wanting to finish as high as possible in those playoff positions to give themsevles a chance. There is no reason why they can’t get promoted, I watched them against Toronto and they gave them a good game and I don’t think they’ll be scared to face Toronto again in the plyaoffs. They are right up there and on a par with Leigh, and we know that we’ll need to be right on it to come anywhere near.

You can’t look too much into our Yorkshire cup game, or the away game as this is now a very different Featherstone side. Everyone can beat anyone in this league and there are plenty twist and turns to come. We have been asking for consistancy in the team and the right attitude and if we can bring that then let’s make this place somewhere people don’t want to come and play.”
