HISTORY

Barrow’s ground was built for the purpose of Barrow RLFC to play in and 500 supporters helped to construct the stadium. The total cost of the work was £7.500 which was an astonishing amount in 1931. The stadium was named after Commander G. W. Craven, a local war hero, who had started the appeal fund with a donation of £500. The stadium capacity was upgraded in 2010 from 6.500 to 7.500.

The ground is surrounded by houses but there is a large retail park behind one end of the ground with plenty of parking, although you should be weary of parking regulations.

Public Transport

Supporters can get various trains up to Barrow, however depending on which train you catch will mean changing trains a few times. The train station is a short walk tk the stadium.
