Morton excited for future after agreeing new deal

Dale Morton has spoken exclusively to the official Rams website, after last week putting pen to paper on a new contract that will keep him at the club until at least the end of 2019.

The winger is currently in his sixth season with the Rams, after having joined ahead of the 2013 campaign from Wakefield Trinity.

Morton has made more than 150 appearances for Dewsbury and he says he’s eager to add to the tally.

“I am excited to sign the new deal, it’s great to be able to stay at the one club for as long as possible,” he said.

“The club is looking like it’s on the up now, especially with the start to the season we have had. Hopefully, we can keep that going

“It’s good to be at a club with a good set of lads and a good team around us.

“I’ve never really been one to move around a lot, and I am happy where I am at the Rams, so as long as the club is doing well, there is no need for me to want to leave.

“I am really settled here at the minute and the club feels like my second home now.

“All the fans seem to like how I play, and I think I get on well with the fans, which makes a big difference.

“I’d like to stay at the club for as long as possible, and add to the enjoyable time I’ve had here so far.

“I want us to keep moving forward as a team, and as a club. That is the main priority for me and the rest of the lads.”
