Talented young prop joins Rams

Russ Spiers on board for 2013
Spiers, 21, made two Super League appearances for the Wildcats in 2011 and was a prominent member of the club's successful under-20s squad.
In 2012, Championship 1 League Leaders and Grand Final winners Doncaster took Spiers on a dual-registration loan and the youngster took the step up to regular open-age rugby in his stride, playing a prominent role in the Dons' league triumph, and featuring in their nail-biting Grand Final victory over Barrow Raiders at the Halliwell Jones Stadium on Sunday.
Described by Academy observers as a "strong, raw-boned prop", hot prospect Spiers says he is relishing the challenge of testing himself at Championship level under old Academy coach Glenn Morrison.
And Morrison, having seen first-hand the progress Spiers has made through the ranks at the Wildcats, has made no secret of his delight at being able to link up with the talented young forward for a second time in 2013.
"I have seen Russ develop over the last three years and he is already a quality player," said Morrison.
"He is big, strong, has all the right attributes, along with the ambition to make it in the Super League.
"He has joined the Rams with the intention of proving himself in a top competititon, and I am more than happy to help achieve his goal of returning to the top level."
